Our Vision for 'little Komodo' Island:
Imagine a University that hosted a Tropical Island Research Resort for Students, a facility with ‘thatched roof - over the water bungalows, swimming pools, modern research facilities with a fast wireless system to connected ‘frontline – in the field students’ to their supporting ‘back line’ colleagues, professors, interested friends and business sponsors. Imagine this being in a location that was set in one of the world's most diverse Marine & Wildlife Parks ‘the Komodo National Park. And imagine if it only cost students as little as $35 per day!
FOR STUDENTS THIS SOUNDS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE!
And this is exactly the idea. We believe that in making a research resort facility that is so appealing, it will attract passionate students with their important thesis, poor people solutions & planet improving innovations, to come FRONTLINE where they can test, research and further polish their ‘world improving innovations & theories’

WHY WE SEE KOMODO RESEARCH RESORT AS AN IMPORTANT ‘POOR COUNTRY’ INVENTION CENTER.
When travelling from community to community with my friend & Lawyer Ekadana, I meet struggling village leaders who need only ‘micro help’ to lift the prosperity and health of their villages. Everywhere I look I see a creation and need of a ‘micro invention’. There seem to be so many simple inventions that would help these people to help themselves, often without money. Why are there so few poor country inventions?
When reading Dr Jeffery Sachs book, ‘The End of Poverty’ he mentions how as little as only five percent of the world’s Research and Development goes to poor countries that as a population represent more than half of the planet. Dr Sach’s also identifies a huge passionate force of people that have great ideas and poor country innovations but can’t attract funding for research and development.
The intention of Komodo Research Resort is to attract and host these people and empower them in a research environment rich in ‘Environmental & Poor Country Problem Solving.’
KOMODO 'RESEARCH RESORTS' ISLAND IS BLESSED WITH UNIQUE FEATURES
THAT RESORT DEVELOPERS DREAM OF:
Komodo RR 10 acres of flat land is backed by a 600 ft. cone shaped mountain & the islands location is such that it has 360 degree shelter from the fiercest of storms. The island is in clear blue water with 2/3rds surrounded by its own fish abundant tropical reefs and the landward side offering white sand based shoreline with deep water axis and boat mooring shelter. Only 500 meters to shore there is a new wharf, road access and electrical supply. Less than 3km away is the Regional Airport, Local Town & Commercial Port ‘Labuan Bajo’. The island is home of many interesting & critically endangered animals, six Giant Sea Eagles nest here, owls, rare bats, anteaters’ reptiles and a hundred monkeys. Right on the Resorts doorstep stretches the Komodo National Park, an ecologically unique location similar to the Maldives but with much more species & importantly at 10% the cost. Komodo is a rapidly growing tourism destination & featured as a finalist in the recent ‘top wonders of the planet program’.
WE HAVE A VALUABLE TROPICAL ISLAND TO GIVE AWAY and possible land adjoining Tom’s well established marine research facility & functioning fish hatchery. We are ready to go, we have building approvals and we are now seeking to find and partner with a resourceful university/s or foundation that has students that would embrace this facility. In order to make this happen we are prepared to gift our Island or a big chunk of it for FREE as well as some buildings.
We also have acess to Toms
Do You Know a University that might want an Island Research Resort? For Indonesia, the problems seem overwhelming but optimism is the only way forward, we simply can’t give up. Life is short, myself and Ekadana have 4 other non-profit projects on the go, by far the most important is the Komodo Research Resort and we realise we simply can’t do it all on our own. We need you to think for us about which University or Universities this would suit, please share this report or make a connection for us. We hope you enjoy this report & we would love you to participate as a mentor or simply be an encouraging part of our founding team.
Kind Regards - Owners Peter & Stacee Honey, Onny & Ekadana I Gusti Putu,
